JOB DESCRIPTION – CAD Manager

NIKA is seeking a CAD/BIM professional with experience in managing a CAD office, overseeing quality, maintaining schedules.

As the CAD Manager, you will develop and manage the creation of a portfolio of facility documents into a state-of-the-art database system which will be responsible for collecting, standardizing, and archiving all technical architectural and engineering documents. This role will be the fulcrum of a D.O.D pilot program with opportunity to be on the leading edge of the intersection between the construction industry and information technology.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the project team for collection, archival, and document repository database system for CAD and BIM documentation.
  • Manage a team of CAD engineers supporting the collection and validation of all as-built drawings, and ongoing process of maintaining current as-built drawings.
  • Establish technical document and archival standards to include: naming conventions, file structure, document access control, document revisions, and indexing.
  • Support internal and external constituents by rasterizing images, creating scalable drawing files, and providing drawings from sketches.
  • Coordination with Enterprise Technology SME’s and teammates supporting the document database infrastructure.
  • Meet with stakeholders and client representatives in collaboration and coordination of the work
  • Review received drawings from a variety of sources to ensure quality control.
  • Conduct onsite collection and review of as-built drawings to develop a baseline.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for ongoing management of maintaining as-built drawings for client.
  • Advise clients on best practices and implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to financial budgets and deadlines.
  • Coordinate the work of direct reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a CAD department
  • Previous experience with professional services firm is required
  • Superior report and policy writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10-15 times per year
  • Must be able to work in a multi-discipline team environment and take ownership of a project

EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher education required
  • Appropriate certifications and technical proficiency
  • Must be eligible for DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Active Public Trust or Secret Clearance Highly Desired
