NIKA is hiring for a Database Developer who will work on a variety of data-driven projects and is responsible for the design, implementation and development of the data warehouse data/information architecture along with the ongoing development and maintenance of the data warehouse.

  • Build and support data warehouses and data marts for use in business intelligence.
  • Participate in project scope definition, data architecture development and project planning.
  • Create design pattern templates for deliverable objects.
  • Manage/conduct all ETL activities.
  • Create and run reports.
  • Stored procedure development.
  • Facilitates consistent business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, Database Management Systems optimization, archiving and recovery strategy, load strategy design and implementation. Lead data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation.
  • Provide on-going support of existing warehouse as well as continually re-evaluate current processes and techniques for increased efficiency and maintainability.
  • Ensure completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance, availability and architecture requirements.
  • Ad hoc queries


  • 5+ years Information Technology experience with 5+ years’ experience in design and development of database models and ETL processes
  • Solid understanding of database and related tools and applications, to include SQL Server Relational Database Management System (RDBMS); Structured Query Language (SQL); Transact-SQL (T-SQL); SQLCMD, Power Shell, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, and Stored Procedures
  • Database Administration skills, to include Performance Tuning, Administration, Windows Operating System,
    Scripting Languages (SQLCMD, Power Shell, batch, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Word) and Visio


  • 5+ years of experience with databases such as SQL Server
  • Prior DBA experience a plus
  • 5+ years of stored procedures development experience
  • 3+ years of performance tuning experience
  • 2 + years of experience gathering business requirements from various sources including end-users and stakeholders
  • 3+ years of application production support experience
  • Experience with Business Intelligence, reporting, and analytics tools (one or more of Crystal Reports, iNetSoft, Tableau, or Cognos)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • Must be eligible for DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Active Public Trust or Secret Clearance Highly Desired
  • Experience in the architecture and engineering industry desirable
