Director/VP of HR and Recruiting

The Director/Vice President of Human Resources & Recruiting is a high value/high impact role, part of the Senior Management Team, and is responsible for leading the organization’s people focused Human Resources and Employee Engagement functions. While the Director/Vice President of Human Resources & Recruiting will oversee traditional responsibilities such as employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, organizational development, performance management, and compliance, its primary objective will be to develop, implement, and maintain an employee centric work environment at all NIKA locations. Additionally, the Director/Vice President of Human Resources & Recruiting will be responsible for developing and managing HR programs that are strategically aligned with the organization’s goals and needs. A people and culture focused approach, coupled with forward thinking and planning is essential for this role. At this time, this position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.


Job Requirements and Essential Skills:

  • 15+ years of relevant HR operations and program experience.
  • 5+ years of either managing recruiting operations or direct recruiting experience. Agency recruiting experience preferred.
  • People centric vision and approach required – coaching, mentoring, and being an advocate for employees is essential.
  • Values and can promote a customer service culture, and continuous improvement operational mindset.
  • Ability to partner, engage, and negotiate with external vendors to procure HR & Recruiting related products and services.
  • Experience with providing HR and Recruiting services and implementing new programs for fast paced, multi-locational organizations.
  • Partners with COO/CFO and other Key Executives to manage employment law compliance and risk management.
  • Strategic advisor and partner to divisional executives.
  • Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team and participate in bi-annual leadership offsite meetings.
  • Track record of strategic planning, business process management, and being an effective people developer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills.
  • Success working in a cross matrixed environment serving many stakeholders in multiple locations.
  • Strong interpersonal, with exceptional coaching, communications, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Manages a growing team of seven employees and four direct reports. 

Education, Training and Certifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in HR Operations and Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related discipline required.
  • Human Resources certification(s) (SHRM or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong presenter of data and information to employees and Senior Management.
  • Demonstrated track record in process improvement projects.
  • Experience with variety of HRIS platforms.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous GovCon experience is a plus.
