NIKA is seeking qualified electrical engineers to provide a range of professional electrical engineering services for government, healthcare and institutional facility projects. You’ll be responsible for designing building electrical systems, including plan layouts, schedules, and shop drawing reviews, as well as evaluating and quantifying existing facilities systems.

This is a great position for somebody with 2-4 years of experience who wants to continue to sharpen their skills and learn from experienced and passionate senior engineers and SMEs, advance within the company, travel around the U.S., and collaborate in a highly creative studio environment!

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university

Position Requirements

  • 2-4 years of electrical design experience
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical design fundamentals
  • Experience with electrical power, lighting, low-voltage, communications, and related systems.
  • Strong Revit & AutoCAD experience
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Assist in equipment selection and specification
  • Assist with construction drawings and construction administration activities
  • Interface with clients and attend meetings as required
  • Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and ensure compliance

Additional Skills

  • LEED Certification desired, or experience in LEED design principles
  • Experience with emergency generators and physical plant systems preferred
  • Federal and/or federal healthcare experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at a time
  • Experience with non-traditional contract vehicles such as design/build preferred
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills; ability to present clear and technically sound engineering strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in an open studio environment
  • Good report writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Other Qualifications

  • Must be capable of obtaining and holding a Department of Defense security clearance

Travel

  • Travel up to approximately 6 times a year
