NIKA is hiring for two Facilities Specialists who will apply knowledge of building construction, facilities management principles and healthcare facilities codes to support the Facilities Maintenance Department in completing construction renovation and maintenance work repairs at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, CA!!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities/Construction Management or related field preferred or 5+ years of equivalent experience required

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures facilities are operating as intended with suitable conditions on a daily basis
  • Maintain close communications with building department heads ensuring the facility continuously supports clinical operations
  • Collaborate with Construction Project Managers and Superintendents to oversee construction repair projects
  • Manage service order work requests from building occupants for facility renovations and repairs
  • Coordinate facility repairs involving architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Conducts on-site field inspections to verify quality installations of new work or repairs according to project requirements
  • Prepares contingency plans to support facility functions in the event of an emergency or major equipment failure
  • Assists in coordinating utility outages and be present during outages to provide immediate communications support
  • Reviews and approves scopes of work and cost estimates for facility repairs
  • Actively respond to all life safety or security breaches of facilities

Job Requirements and Essential Skills:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance required
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance as it applies to facilities
  • Must possess a vehicle and valid US driver’s license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office suite products required
