Low Voltage Communications SME

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of healthcare operations and related communication and electronic security equipment and systems (CES), and be proficient in reading (and/or translating requirements into) design/construction/installation documents.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering or electrical engineering. Master’s degree a plus.

Position Requirements

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of communications design and implementation experience – or – 15+ years of experience in the design and implementation of communications systems
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the design, coordination and integration of military medical communications
  • Proficiency in DoD Criteria and demonstrated experience in:
  1. Preparing CES design layouts and documents (including project room contents lists, infrastructure interface, and technical specifications)
  2. Budgetary and procurement documentation
  3. Executing the procurement, delivery, installation, testing, certification, and training related to CES (aka LVS).
  • Familiarity with the following systems
    • Integrated Audio-Video Systems
    • Access Control (photo badging, video surveillance and any other linked systems).
    • Infant Protection Alarm System (IPAS)
    • Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
    • Elevator Communications
    • Emergency (911) Communication Systems (EMS)
    • Fire Detection and Alarm
    • Fire Pump Control System
    • Nurse Call Tone-Visual (NCTV) System
    • Nurse Call Audio-Visual (NCAV) System
    • Patient Queuing & Clinical Workflow
    • Patient Monitoring and Telemetry Systems
    • Pneumatic-Tube System (PTS)

Additional Skills

  • Proficiency in the following software applications: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Project, and ‘off the shelf’ cost estimating software

Other Qualifications

  • Must be capable of obtaining and holding a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance
