Predictive Analyst

Location: Falls Church, VA, US

As a Predictive Analyst at NIKA, you’ll be embedded with our Data Analytics practice in leveraging your curiosity and problem-solving skills to explore, discover, and predict patterns contained within data sets for a wide range of government clients.  This includes the derivation of clear narratives that help our clients understand their data and how those insights address research questions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related business or quantitative discipline

Job Responsibilities

  • Frame and scale data problems to analyze, visualize, and find data solutions.
  • Manipulate common data formats, including comma-delimited, text files, and JSON.
  • Transform data and analysis into informative visualizations and interactive dashboards
  • Knowledge of statistics, data modeling, and simulation
  • Knowledge of creating tools or dashboards using R, Tableau, or SAS
  • Knowledge of designing and organizing data based on design and methods that are conducive to analysis and reporting
  • Advanced skill interpreting, extrapolating and interpolating data for statistical research and modeling
  •  Advanced skill using innovative thinking to solve problems and facilitate the decision-making process

Position Requirements

  • 0-2 years of working experience
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL;
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Experience in statistical software (e.g., SPSS Modeler and/or SAS) to manage large data sets
  • Experience in using more than two of the following statistical methods to solve business problems: linear and logistic regression, neural networks, decision trees, experimental design, time-series
  • have them with familiarity with a statistical software package. Particularly R, STATA, SPSS, and SAS.
  • Knowledge of linear regression and/or time-series regression
  • Must have Familiarity with SQL
  • The new DMLSS system is going to be on Mongo DB, so that would be an extra skill that would be great, but not essential.
  • MS Office familiarity is needed; there will be things done in Excel.

Other Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and holding a Department of Defense security clearance
