NIKA Solutions is hiring a Regional Energy Manager (Engineer) to support regional facilities on energy engineering, energy and water master-planning and retro-commissioning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist field team in site investigations related to existing HVAC, plumbing and electrical, systems, building automation systems, utility meters, sub-metering, software, hardware, and certifications
  • During site investigations, observe operation of existing HVAC, plumbing, domestic water and selected electrical system operation.
  • Consolidate and validate energy and water consumption data and utility bills
  • Work closely with field engineers to evaluate the findings of detailed site investigations.
  • Coordinate with data analysts to perform energy analysis
  • Perform design reviews for design projects including LEED/ Sustainability.
  • Expert in performing technical and financial analysis of energy conservation measures, water conservation measures, and renewable energy measures
  • Assist in continuous Measurement and Verification tasks
  • Provide technical assistance to facility managers and assist them in development of construction projects
  • Perform benchmarking analyses including energy and water consumption
  • Develop energy and water master plans including renewable energy and combined heat and power studies.
  • Perform first cost and life-cycle cost analysis and Renewable Energy feasibility studies.
  • Track energy and utility cost savings associated with energy projects
  • Effectively communicate thoughts, both in writing and oral presentations

Job/ Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in analysis of energy and water systems including controls, lighting and commissioning related activities at healthcare facilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent engineering report writing capability
  • Energy modeling software packages and energy calculations
  • Strong analytical skills of HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products word and Excel
  • Expert in reading and manipulating energy and water data in in commercially available database
  • Proficient in EPA’s Energy Star Portfolio Manager program

Education, training and certifications:

  • Four-year BS degree and or MS Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Energy engineering is required.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is desired.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is desired.

Security/ Travel:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain security clearance is required
  • CONUS an OCONUS travel is required
  • Up to 25% travel
