NIKA is hiring for a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer to provide engineering services to military medical facilities in San Antonio, TX!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer License in Fire Protection Engineering required

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fire protection and life safety evaluations
  • Life safety designing & preparing drawings
  • Analysis of existing fire protection & life safety deficiencies
  • Design fire protection & life safety systems
  • Prepare and present fire protection & life safety training
  • Design fire protection systems
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations
  • Ability to multi-task including directing staff, mentoring other engineers, producing documents and coordinating with other trades.

Job Requirements and Essential Skills:

  • Extensive healthcare experience in fire protection & life safety
  • Extensive federal government experience
  • Extensive experience working with local AHJ’s
  • Professional engineering registration required
  • BS or higher in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with ten (10) or more years of experience.
  • AutoCAD experience and/or experience with Revit strongly preferred
  • Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies
  • Leadership potential

Security/ Travel:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to obtain security clearance is required
  • Travel approximately 10+ times per year
