Electrical Engineering Manager

NIKA is hiring for an Electrical Engineering Manager to provide day-to-day management to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) FOM Support Services contract in Pasadena, CA! This is for a potential opportunity that would be awarded mid-year 2024.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Electrical maintenance/management for the JPL site.
  • Responsible for the electrical maintenance program and distribution system.
  • Responsible for all electrical outage coordination and restoration, including responding to all plant wide electrical emergencies or abnormal conditions.
  • Will represent NIKA as the JPL electrical engineer on record for all electrical issues and programs.
  • Supports the NIKA Maintenance Manager and SFOF Manager regarding NIKA’s 24/7 site-wide and after-hours electrical distribution issues.
  • Directly supervise the Electrical Team.
  • Responsible for on-boarding, and training curriculums for all existing and new staff on the Electrical Team.
  • Responsible for all electrical local operating procedures, including the annual review and revisions.
  • Will be the back-up for the Space Flight Operations Facilities (SFOF) Manager as needed.
  • Ensures day-to-day preventive maintenance and repairs for the JPL electrical program are performed on-time and meet all JPL contract deliverables.
  • Ensures that the electrical team maintains plant operations logs, and performs daily and weekly rounds for all critical electrical equipment and emergency generators.
  • Supports the SFOF Manager to ensure SFOF BAS / PCC (Power Control Console) Operator are initiating Flash Reports for all critical electrical equipment breakdowns and facility infrastructure interruptions.
  • Provides field updates to NIKA and JPL key customers when critical repairs are made and/or facility infrastructure is restored.
  • Supports JPL Facility electrical engineers with coordination and arc flash studies and has responsibility for all EGS follow-up repairs and or corrective actions.
  • Responsible for predictive testing and inspection (PT&I) for electrical infrastructure at the NASA JPL site.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 15 years of related Electrical Engineering experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Must have experience with power/UPS distribution systems for critical facilities.
  • Must have be a Certified Safety Professional or a Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain an access card to the site.
