NIKA is hiring for a Proposal Writer to support our business development team out of the Washington, D.C metro area!

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing a range of proposal content that meets proposal terms and conditions as well as quality standards along with developing content in coordination with the business development department, SME’s, general manager(s), and executive leadership.
• Owns the development of successful responses to RFI’s and RFP’s as well as various types of documentation in support of proposals, contracts, and project tasks.
• Write original proposal content and preparation of professionally formatted proposal and program support documentation.
• Research and write compelling original proposal content and project documentation.
• Write, edit, and proofread proposal, project, and contract documentation while meeting established schedules and deadlines.
• Develop proposal compliance matrices, outlines, schedules, templates, review guidance, and track through proposal development/submission.
• Develop and maintain process and procedure documentation.
• Manage program deliverables and proposal content and documentation and libraries, ensuring content is accurate and updated on a regular basis.
• Track proposal deadlines and ensure compliant and accurate proposal submission.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• A minimum of (5) years of federal proposal writing experience in the government contracting arena
• Proven experience writing winning proposals for DoD/Federal customers.
• Proposal writing experience in the areas of facilities related services such as custodial/janitorial, operations and maintenance, pest control, waste management, roads and grounds keeping, construction and IT related services is highly desired.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team, as needed
• Self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including creating templates, setting styles, using formulas
• Trained in the Shipley proposal process
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Knowledge of Federal/DoD contracting, FAR/DFARs
• Proven experience leading winning Federal proposals
