Quality Control Manager

NIKA is hiring for a Quality Control Manager to provide day-to-day QC management to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) FOM Support Services contract in Pasadena, CA! This is for a potential opportunity that would be awarded mid-year 2024.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for editing and managing Contractors Technical Description Document (TDD), Operations Procedures Plan, and Local Operating Procedures as needed and assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Performs regular physical inspections of grounds, buildings, equipment, and operations; identifies and documents quality conditions.
  • Manages and assigns all quality internal Non-Conformance Reports and Corrective Action Reports.
  • Responsible for implementation of all Quality Programs to support maintenance and operations (M&O).
  • Performs root cause analysis to determine actions necessary to support problem resolution and continuous improvement programs.
  • Plans, directs, and oversees personnel who provide oversight and compliance of contract Quality requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management within NIKA and the JPL organizations to journeymen and apprentice technicians.
  • Reviews all quality TDD deliverables and requirements before passing onto customer.
  • Effectively applies our quality methodology and enforces all quality standards.
  • Prepares for all M&O management reviews and is responsible for all quality slides.
  • Develops and updates the Program Manager on quality, performance metrics, quality issues, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Keeps team well informed of changes within the organization.
  • Liaison to JPL within areas of responsibility.
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/ sensitive information tactfully.
  • Effectively conveys Contractor messages in both written and verbal discussions.
  • Keeps track of Quality Lessons Learned and shares those lessons with project staff.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of related Quality Control Management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
  • Must have an ISO Certification.
  • Must be experienced in quality ISO Standards, quality metrics associated with maintenance and operations and have a thorough understanding of government contracting.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain an access card to the site.
