NIKA is hiring for multiple Warehouse Specialist’s for a base operations support services contract at the US Coast Guard Base in Kodiak, AK!

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify incoming freight and materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Track incoming/outgoing freight.
  • Use inventory control program to maintain accurate inventory, digitally receive freight and prepare receiving documents.
  • Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Regularly maintain accurate inventory counts and adjust accordingly in the inventory management program.
  • Remove materials from storage and preparing it for shipment in accordance with the government regulations.
  • Fulfill part requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare documents and inventory transfer.
  • Keep an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse; assisting with training of newly employed workers.
  • Process Hazmat for shipping in accordance with IATA.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Forklift operating certificate or the ability to obtain a forklift certification within three months of hire.
  • Must maintain HAZWOPER certification IAW 29 CFR 1910.120, completed within thirty (30) days of accepting position.
  • IATA certification or ability to earn certification within 1 year.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
